Surgery Area

The surgery area concentrates most of the centre’s activity.
There are 5 operating theatres: four of them are intended for major outpatient surgery and a fifth one is used for refractive surgery.

  • Glaucoma surgery: trabeculectomy, non-penetrating deep sclerectomy, valve implantation, cyclodestruction…
  • Corneal, conjunctival and scleral surgery: penetrating transplants, lamellar transplants, coating with amniotic membrane, crosslinking, intrastromal rings implantation, excision of pinguecula, excision of pterygium, excision of conjunctival tumours…
  • Retina and vitreous surgery: retinal detachment, retinal membranes, vitreous hemorrhages, treatments for age-related macular degeneration…
  • Refractive surgery: excimer laser surgery, femtosecond laser surgery, implant of premium intraocular lenses…
  • Oculoplasty and orbit surgery: eyelid surgery (lower and upper blepharoplasty, palpebral malposition, tumour excision…
  • Tear duct surgery: lacrimal intubation, dacryocystorhinostomies, orbital decompression surgery, orbital reconstruction…
  • Paediatric and adult strabismus surgery
  • Paediatric ocular surgery
